Kemi Olunloyo closes blog, social media accounts over defamation case

Controversial media personality Kemi Olunloyo has shut down her blog and her other social media accounts pending the outcome of the defamation case she is facing with Pastor David Ibiyeomie of Salvation Ministries.
The 52-year-old in a post on Instagram said that her @HNNAFRICA handle on twitter and facebook will be reopened by 2019 when her trial may have been over while also thanking her fans and Linda Ikeji who doled out the sum of N100k to her while she was still in prison for their support.
“#BREAKING @hnnafrica blog, Instagram and most platforms are SHUT DOWN until I get my passport back after my criminal defamation trial with FRN is over. If I lose the case, 3 years in prison and or a N7M fine; most Nigerians don’t even know what this case is about.

“The MSM also have many facts and dates WRONG. If you are in #PortHarcourt, you are urged to attend the trial. Day 5 is approaching for the prosecution. We are the defense. Special thanks to my lawyers, Kayode Ajulo, Fatai Lawal of Afe Babalola chambers and Eugene Meabe,” Kemi wrote on Instagram.
Kemi was picked up by security operatives at her Ibadan home in March and was detained at the Port Harcourt prison for 81 days following a petition written to the Nigerian Police Force by Pastor Ibiyeomie who claimed she defamed him by publishing an alleged adultery story about him which he claim were unfounded.
The journalist who will still appear in court was however released a week ago but not after she accused the chief registrar attached to the Port Harcourt Division of the Federal High Court of sitting on her case- an allegation which was outrightly denied by the registrar.
