Gunman who shot US Congressman, aide and cops dies
James T Hodgkinson, the gunman who attacked Republican lawmakers during a baseball practice in a Washington DC suburb has died, according to reports.
The Illinois resident who was taken to hospital after he was gunned down following the attack died from his injuries while he was being rushed to hospital.
Moments after the attack, Trump said; “We may have our differences, but we do well in times like these to remember that everyone who serves in our nation’s capital is here because, above all, they love our country.”
James shot and wounded United States House of Representatives Majority Whip and representative for Louisiana’s 1st, Steve Scalise, who was at the second base area during a Republican baseball practice in Alexandria.

The gunman according to reports also shot and wounded two Capitol police officers and the aide of Scalise who was shot in the chest by the suspect who was taken down by Scalise’s security detail and later arrested.
According to reports, Mo Brooks, U.S. Representative for Alabama’s 5th congressional district used his belt as a tourniquet to stop the bleeding for Scalise, who according to reports is in stable with the policemen who were shot by the gunman.
The shooting today is the first shooting of a United States representative since Gabrielle Giffords in 2011.
