Sunshine Stars hook Eguavoen as coach

Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side Sunshine Stars have appointed Austin Eguavoen as their head coach for the rest of the season.

The Akure Gunners had wanted Eguavoen on a long-term deal but ended up reaching an agreement to manage the team for just the second round including the outstanding game from the first round against champions Enugu Rangers.

Supersport.com was also informed that Eguavoen was more disposed to taking up a short-term contract till the end of the season with the option of continuing as head coach next season should he guide Sunshine Stars to safety.
