Nigeria Professional Football League top scorer for the current season Stephen Odey has apologised to his club MFM FC after he went AWOL.
Odey left for Denmark without the permission of his club and after a botched attempt at joining Danish side FC Midtjylland, he traced his steps back to MFM.
The striker, who has scored 14 goals this term in the NPFL, has been named in the Super Eagles squad for the camping programme in France and the friendly with Corsica, says he is sorry for what happened and wants to put it behind him.
"Right now I need to remain focussed because many things have happened in the past and I want to plead and apologise for everything that has happened but now I'm looking forward to the Super Eagles assignment.
"For me to claim a permanent shirt in the team, I think I need to do more of what I normally do on the field of play and outside the field of play.
"I need to play to the coaches' instructions. By so doing I believe I will be a regular in the team," the teenage striker disclosed to mountaintopfc.com.
Odey’s teammate at MFM, Sikiru Olatunbosun, has also been handed a first-ever invitation to the Super Eagles.
