The prosecutor said that the convict stole one grey coloured Toyota Hiace with Ekiti reg. No. ADK 566 XA.
An Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday sentenced one Lawrence Ehioghae, 50, to six months imprisonment for stealing a vehicle and 150 loaves of bread.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Idowu Ayenimo, convicted Ehioghae, as he admitted committing the offence.
He was docked on a count charge of stealing.
The prosecutor, Sgt. Bankole Olasunkanmi, had told the court that the convict committed the offence on May 5, at about 3:00p.m. at Km. 4, Iworoko Road, Ado-Ekiti.
He said that the convict was a driver at a bakery owned by one Owolabi Adebowale.
The prosecutor said that the convict stole one grey coloured Toyota Hiace with Ekiti reg. No. ADK 566 XA.
He put the valued of the vehicle at N3.6million.
He also told the court that the convict disappeared with 150 loaves of bread, valued at N70,000, also belonging to Adebowale.
The offence contravened the provisions of Section 383 and punishable under Section 390 (9 and 10A) of the Criminal Code Cap C16 Vol.1 Laws of Ekiti State, 2012.
The prosecutor said that the vehicle was recovered from the convict.
