Moji Olaiya passed on at the age of 42 after suffering a heart attack, few weeks after birthing her second baby. The burial was scheduled for Friday, May 19 but was aborted by the Ekiti state government at the last minute.
The remains of Moji who was an indigene of Ekit state will now be ferried to Nigeria for proper burial rights courtesy of the Ekiti State government. Earlier, the actress' eldest daughter, Adunola had protested the burial of her mother in Canada, asking her body be returned. It had been decided by colleagues and family that the actress be buried in Canada, following Islamic rights that require very short time for the dead to be buried.
Residents at the Magodo home of the late actress revealed the Ekiti state government volunteered to see through the expense of shipping the remains of the actress to her loved ones for proper burial. The corpse which is said to be arrive Nigeria in few hours is expected by family and friends of late Moji Olaiya.
